The Secret To Showing Up When You’re Feeling Uninspired
How do you show up all the times that you need to when you’re feeling uninspired?
Here’s the problem I see:
We’re all taught we need to find what our passion is because that’s what’s supposed to motivate us to follow through on the days, and in the times, when it’s really hard.
The trouble is that there are days when it’s cold, it’s snowing, it’s dark, it’s cloudy, it’s wintertime and you wake up in the morning and no matter how passionate you were yesterday, today you’re feeling like, “You know what? I just don’t feel that inspired.”
I think you have to show up in a consistent way as though you were a professional.
Imagine you are a brain surgeon or imagine that you had a brain that needed surgery. You wouldn’t want your brain surgeon to only come and do the operation when he was feeling passionate. You’d want him to do it no matter what.
So here I am on the coast of Maine and it’s kind of cold and there’s snow coming down and it’s gray and it’s not very inspiring and I thought there’s lots of reasons why I might not want to make a video right now.
And it was actually the perfect moment to make this video for you guys.
Find that place that you feel like, “Okay, This is this is who I’m doing it for, and if I don’t show up then they’re not going to get the thing that I have to offer.”
And there’s the reason for you.
So that’s what I’m thinking about this morning. I hope you guys are enjoying the ocean in the background. And if you’d like my help with showing up, then by all means, apply for a free coaching session (on me!)
